x = ±3/2

Explanation:

3x² + 2 = 11 - x²

Collecting like terms and equating to zero

3x² + x² + 2 - 11 = 0

4x² - 9 = 0

Using Quadratic Formula to find the value of x

x = −(b±√b2−4(ac) ) /2a

Where a=4, b=0, c=-9

x = -0±√(0² - 4(4)(-9) )/ 2(4)

x = ±(√144)/8

x = ±12/8

x = ±3/2
