Answer:

Find the area of the whole shape, then find the area of the shaded area (which is 2 triangles *).
after that, just minus the area of the shaded areas from the area of the whole shape...

Total Area = Lenght x Width... (16 x 12)
Area of triangle 1 = 1/2 x Base x Height.... (1/2 x 12 x 8)

Area of triangle 2 = 1/2 x Base x Height.... (1/2 x 12 x 8)

Area of Shaded Region = A of T1 + A of T2

Area of Non-Shaded Region = Total Area - Area of of Shaded Areas

Answer:

96 for both

Explanation:

You can see that each region is equal because it is half. 8*12=96. (96/2)*2= Shaded region. 96

So that means the unshaded region is also 96.
