Rachel measured the length of a leaf was
(16)/(3) inch.

Solution:

Let us find how long the leaf Rachel measured.

Julie measured the length of a leaf =
(2)/(3) inch

Rachel measured the length of a leaf = 8 times of length Julie measured

$=8*(2)/(3)

$=(8)/(1)*(2)/(3)

Using fractional multiplication rule:
$(a)/(b)*(c)/(d)=(a* c)/(b* d)

$=(8*2)/(1*3)

$=(16)/(3) inch

Hence, Rachel measured the length of a leaf was
(16)/(3) inch.
