Why does the photoelectric effect provide evidence that light behaves in some ways like a particle? What about the experimental observations are in disagreement with the classical wave model of light but in agreement with Einstein’s photon model of light?

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

In photoelectric effect , when we increase the intensity of radiation falling on metal plate , there is no increase in the kinetic energy of photo-electrons . Instead , number of photo-electrons emitted is increased. This observation proves the fact that radiation consists of photons of light or particle form of light. when intensity is increased , no of photons is increased which results in increased no of emitted electrons . Had light been in the form of wave , the increased energy of wave would have increased the energy of emitted electrons but it does not happen . So radiation is not in the form of wave.
