Fifteen grams of substance X at 95 degrees Celsius is mixed with 45 grams of substance Z at 85 degrees Celsius in a container which was originally at 25 degrees Celsius. Neglecting any transfer of heat to the environment, the temperature at the end of 15 minutes was 32 degrees Celsius. What is the equilibrium temperature?

Answer:32 degree Celsius

Explanation: Equilibrium temperature = 32c. It is observed that a higher temperature substance (95c) which is in contact with a lower temperature substance (85c) will transfer heat to the lower temperature substance. The substance will approach the same temperature, and in the absence of loss to other substance, they will then maintain a constant temperature. This is the equilibrium temperature. = 32c
