Answer:

x = 23.23790.. , -23.23790..

Explanation:

x² + 6² = 24²

x² + 36 = 576

x² = 576 - 36

x² = 540

x = √540

x = 23.23790.. , - 23.23790..

Answer:

23.24

Explanation:

Pythagorean's theorem states that in a right angle triangle, the sum of the square of the opposite side with it's adjacent side is equal to the sum of the hypotenuse side.

Such that:

a^2 + b^2 = c^2 (where a and b are opposite and Adjacent sides respectively and c is the Hypotenuse side)

Note that, the Hypotenuse side is the longest side of the right angle triangle.

From the question:

6^2 + x^2 = 24^2

36 + x^2 = 576

x^2 = 576 - 36

x^2 = 540

x = √540

x = 23.24
