The transfer of genetic information from mRNA to the sequence of amino acids in a protein is called translation. Free amino acids in the cytoplasm are brought to the ribosome by tRNA. At its central part, the tRNA has a sequence of three bases called the anticodon which is complementary with codon on the mRNA. The mRNA gets attached in such a way that it passes through the centre of the ribosome adding polypeptides chain that are then released into cytoplasm.
