The essence of disillusionment was very much evident in Alfred prufrock. Being an author of an age of modernism his writings were very beautifully written and disillusionment was very evident in them. He consider himself alone and the sense of inadequacy and self consciousness is there in his work. On the other hand he considered himself as a complete failure as well, who's life ended with his youth when he was charming and was capable to do something.
