So in order to convert them to a place where you can easily subtract, you would multiply 22/8 by 9 and you would multiply 15/9 by 8 . this should be equal to 198/72 and 120/72. from this point you can easily subtract and see that the answer would be 78 / 72 . because 78 and 72 both end in 8 and 2 which are even numbers, you can reduce the fraction and convert it to a mixed number. At this point it should be equivalent to 1 1/12
