she is correct, using multiplication . 1x24 is 24, 12x 2 equals 24 8 x 3 24, 4x 6 equals 24, like I mentioned earlier 6x 4 equals 24 finally 8 times 3 . yw

Carmen is incorrect. These are not multiples of 24. Instead they are factors of 24.

A factor of 24 is some whole number smaller than 24 such that it multiplies with another whole number (another factor) to get 24.

1*24 = 24

2*12 = 24

3*8 = 24

4*6 = 24

The terms on the left side show 1,2,3,4,6,8,12,24 are factors of 24

---------------------------------------------------------------

If she wanted to list multiples of 24, then that list would look like

24,48,72,96,...

which are all larger than 24 (except for 24 itself at the front of the list)

You get this list by continually adding on 24 each time, or you use multiplication

1*24 = 24

2*24 = 48

3*24 = 72

4*24 = 96

and so on
