The following are the geographic factors that influenced the development of Mesopotamia civilizations:
The proximity to Tigris and Euphrates:
Though there was very low rainfall in the area spanned by the Mesopotamian civilizations, agriculture was still on its zenith owing to the abundance of water provided by the rivers of Tigris and Euphrates.
The availability of fertile soil:
The nutritional value of the enriched soil of Mesopotamia allowed the farmers to take a variety of crops.
The network of trade routes:
The Mesopotamian civilization was located in the central part of Asia which allowed it to develop itself as a hub for the traders from both the continents.
