  • Plate tectonics is a theory explaining the structure of the earth's crust and many associated phenomena that results from the interaction of rigid lithospheric plates which moves slowly over the underlying mantle. A Tectonic Plate is a massive, irregular shaped of solid rock composed of both continental and oceanic lithosphere. Its size varies from few hundreds to thousand kilometers across.
  • Major Land forms such as Plateaus, terrain,Mountains, hills and plains are formed by plate tectonics.
  • volcanoes, island arcs, submarine mountain ranges, and fault lines Earthquakes, Volcanic eruptions and Tsunami's are the events caused because of Plate tectonics.
