1st, try doing it backwards.

total x denominator(bottom number) = numerator(top number)

AKA

100 x 10 = 1000

.

in a fraction, the top number (numerator) is being divided by the bottom number (denominator)

example:

h/10 = 100

will be the same as,

1000 / 10 = 100
