How is velocity different than speed?

Velocity is how fast something is moving at one specific moment. Example: you can run on a treadmill
at 10 mph.
Velocity is speed with direction. Example: you can run outside at 10 mph north.
Velocity is how fast something speeds up and slows down.
Velocity is a measurement of distance.

Wait you just answered your own question. The difference between velocity and speed is that velocity can be both in the positive and negative direction where as speed is always positive.
