To answer this, we can just test out each of the options.

Let's start with (4,2). Let x = 4, and put this into the equation:

We get that y = 2x4 - 3 = 5. So since this doesn't equal 2, (4,2) is not a solution.

We can then test out the rest of the options in a similar way, and we see that:

2x(1) -3 = -1. So (1,-1) is a solution.

2x(-1) -3 = -5, so (-1, 7) is NOT a solution.

2x(2) - 3 = 1, so (2,1) is a solution.
