Clara has solved the problem 6p - 12 = 72 and says that p = 14. How can you check to see if Clara is correct

All you have to do is plug in 14 where p is so then you check 6•14 - 12 and see if that equals 72 and if it does then it is correct

Answer:

Explanation:

to check to see if she is correct, sub her answer back into the equation and check it..

6p - 12 = 72.......check if p = 14 is correct...so sub in 14 for p

6(14) - 12 = 72

84 - 12= 72

72 = 72 (correct)......so Clara got it right
