A= xy ...........equation (2)

From equation (1)

50=2(x+y)

Divide both by two

25=x+y

x=y-25

Then the area:

From equation (2)

A=(y-25)y

The zeros will be y-25=0 and y=0 therefore y=25 and y=0

Then their average is: (25+0)/2 = 12.5

The width is 12.5 and the length is 25-12.5 which is 12.5

X=Length=12.5

Y=width=12.5

The largest area is:

12.5×12.5
