The triangle in the figure is an isoceles triangle meaning the two sides of the triangle are equal. This I know because of that short lines on line AC and CB of the triangle.

Now, the base angles of an isoceles triangle are equal and applying this theorem to this problem, we have:

50 = 2x

solving for x,

x = 25

Now the sum of angles in a triangle is 180 degrees

=> 50 + 50 + 5y + 10 = 180

5y = 180 - 110

5y = 70

y = 14
