Answer:

On the blueprint the dimensions are 48 inches by 64 inches.

Explanation:

Given:

The scale on blueprint was 1/4 inch = 1 foot.

The actual dimensions of her bedroom are 12 feet by 16 feet.

Now, to find the dimensions on the blueprint.

Let the dimensions on the blueprint be
x by
y.

As, given the scale on blueprint:

(1)/(4)\ inch=1\ foot

So,
(1)/(4)\ inch is equivalent to 1 foot.

Thus,
x is equivalent to 12 feet.

And,
y is equivalent to 16 feet.

Now, solving by cross multiplication method:

((1)/(4))/(1) = (x)/(12)

(4)/(1) =(x)/(12)

By cross multiplying we get:

48=x

x=48\ inches.

Now, again:

((1)/(4))/(1) =(y)/(16)

(4)/(1) =(y)/(16)

By cross multiplying we get:

64=y

y=64\ inches.

Therefore, on the blueprint the dimensions are 48 inches by 64 inches.
