Answer: 250

Explanation:

300-100=200

200/4=50

50*3=150

150+100=250

Was at marker 100 before starting the trip so to see how many miles the trip was in total you’d have to subtract that marker from the last marker (300).
Take that total and divide it by how many hours it was (4) to see how many miles were in between each marker.

Multiply each mile marker by how many hours you need to calculate (which marker you want to know about).

Add the mile you started from (100) back to the mile marker you got the information for (150).

After 3 hours, you will be on 450 mile marker.

Explanation:

step 1: At start, the number in the mile marker is 100

step 2: After 4 hours, the number in the mile marker is 300

step 3: The difference of 300-100= 200. In 4 hours you crossed 200 mile markers.

step 4: Therefore, for 1 hour you can cross= 200/4= 50 mile markers.

For 3 hours, the number of mile markers crossed= 3*50= 150 mile markers.

step 5: After 3 hours, the number in the mile marker will be= 300+150= 450
