22.5 grams of zinc is present in 31.5 gram alloy

Solution:

Given that,

Ratio of weight of Tin and zinc in a alloy is 2 : 5

Therefore.

Weight of tin : Weight of zinc = 2 : 5

Let the weight of tin be 2x

Let the weight of zinc be 5x

How much zinc is there in 31.5 gram of alloy ?

Therefore, total weight of alloy is 31.5 gram

Weight of tin + Weight of zinc = 31.5

2x + 5x = 31.5\\\\7x = 31.5\\\\x = (31.5)/(7)\\\\x = 4.5

Weight of zinc = 5x = 5(4.5) = 22.5

Thus 22.5 grams of zinc is present in 31.5 gram alloy
