These stories were printed and began to be sold, in England, Scotland, Ireland and the Nordic countries. When Anglo-Saxon emigration began to expand throughout the United States, it achieved this oral tradition of affected ballads, later became embedded in the blues, country and folk genres and spread mainly through the old west and south of the country.
