Answer: 7 electrons

Explanation: In the first orbital shell it can only hold a maximum of 2 electrons.

The second orbital or energy level it can hold a minimum of 1 and maximum of 8 electrons.

Since the first shell has 2 electrons it means that the second shell has 7 electrons.
