We know that the volume of the cone is

12 = \pi (1.5)^2 ( h )/(3)


(12)/(\pi 2.25) = (h)/(3)


h = (12)/( 2.25 \pi) * 3


h = ( 12)/(7.065) * 3


h = 1.698 * 3

h = 5.09 inches
