Buddhism is said to be fourth largest religion in the world and there are more than 520 million followers.

Buddhism is mainly practiced in China and now it is practiced in Korea and Japan as well. Theravada Buddhism is followed in the South Asian Countries mainly Combodia, Thailand, Sri Lanka and Burma. Approximately 18.2% people of China follow Buddhism.

Buddhism is mainly considered as a religion but most common debaters say that Buddhism is not a religion but a philosophy or it can be said that it is a way of life. In case of religion there is a centralized belief based on a set of god or a god.

Buddhism encourages people to belief on karma that is the law based on cause and effect. Buddhists also belief in reincarnation that is there is a cycle of rebirth that goes on.

Buddhism had influenced culture in various ways , it gives importance to non violence, it influences people to become vegetarian . It also influenced art , language, literature as well as sculptures.
