1. subtract the second term with the first, (6-4=2) then then third with the second (9-6=3).

3. apply pattern to missing term, (16+2=19) and (21+3=24)

second pattern:

1. since subtracting the terms does not give us a pattern, try dividing when possible, (6/3=2) and (14/7=2). then subtract the other terms (7-6=1) and (15-14=1)
