-These are integrated opportunities for teachers and students to engage in productive discussions which is refered to in maths teaching today as "ways of representing, thinking, talking, agreeing and disagreeing " which implies having awareness of respect for the perspective, solution strategies and other people's ideas.

-teachers and children should have many learning resources to help them make sense of mathematics which they are actively teaching and learning.
