HELP ITS FOR RIGHT NOW!!!!!

You are building a tabletop. You will use the plan shown, except that you will make all dimensions 2 1/2 time as large. What will be the area of your tabletop?

Explanation:

We need to multiply all of the lengths and widths by 2 1/2 in order to make the dimensions 2 1/2 times larger.

For length:


5(1)/(4) x
2(1)/(2) = 13.125 or
13(1)/(8)

For width:


3(1)/(3) x
2(1)/(2) = 8.333 or
8(1)/(3)

Then to find the area use the equation:

A = l x w (Area = length x width)

And plug in the values:

A =
13(1)/(8) x
8(1)/(3) =
(875)/(8) or
109(3)/(8) or 109.375
