Question is Incomplete; Complete question is given below;

A baker has 5 1/4 pies in her shop. She cut the pies in pieces that are each 1/8 of a whole pie.

How many pieces of pie does she have?

Answer:

Baker can have 42 pieces of pie.

Explanation:

Given:

Amount of pie baker has =
5 (1)/(4)

5 (1)/(4) can be Rewritten as
(21)/(4)

Amount of pie baker has =
(21)/(4)

Amount of each piece pie is cut=
(1)/(8)

We need to find the number of pieces of pie the baker can have.

Solution:

To find the the number of pieces of pie the baker can have we will divide Amount of pie baker has with Amount of each piece pie is cut.

framing in equation form we get;

number of pieces of pie the baker can have =
((21)/(4))/((1)/(8))=(21)/(4) * (8)/(1) =42

Hence Baker can have 42 pieces of pie.
