Answer: Today, more than 6 million students with disabilties access the general education curriculum and receive their education in the general education classroom at least for most of the school day.

Explanation:

The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) was enacted in 1975. Its purpose was to ensure that children and youth ages 3–21 with disabilities are provided a free and appropriate public school education.

Many more students with disabilities are now being taught alongside their peers without disabilities.

As at 2016, about 95% of kids with disabilities spent at least part of their day in a regular education classroom. About 63% were in such classes at least 80% of the time.

In summary, the report shows that over 6 million students between the age range of 6 to 21 received special education services in the nation’s schools in regular classes.

The figures were sourced from a U.S. Department of Education report to Congress about implementation of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act.

Answer and explanation:

The answer for the present task would be as follows:

Today, half of students with disabilities access the general education curriculum and receive their education in the general education classroom at least most of the school day.

Which I personally think it is the best option for these type of students.
