Explanation:

To convert from rectangular coordinates to cylindrical coordinates we use


x=rcos(u)


y=rsin(u)


r=√(x^2+y^2)

Therefore (-3,5,2):


r=√((-3)^2+5^2)=5.83


cosu=x/r=-3/5.83=-0.51


u=2.11 radians

So the coordinates are (5.83, 2.11, 2)
