Answer:

a/b = c/d proportion

I believe you have teachers and students reversed

S / T = 45 / 2 that is there is 45 students for every 2 teachers

S + T = 1410 given in problem

(1410 - T) / T = 45 / 2 expresses the given situation of students / teachers

2820 - 2 T = 45 T rearranging previous expression

T = 2820 / 47 = 60 gives the number of teachers

S / T = 45 / 2

2 S = 45 T = 45 * 60 = 2700

or S = 1350 students

So the total teachers and students is 1350 + 60 = 1410 as given

S / T = 1350 / 60 = 45 / 2 ratio of students to teachers
