Answer:

Option D.

2(x+4)-x=11

Explanation:

Let

x ----> the smaller number

y ----> the larger number

we know that

The larger number is twice the value of 4 more than the smaller number

y=2(x+4) ----> equation A

Their difference is 11

y-x=11 ----> equation B

substitute equation A in equation B

2(x+4)-x=11

Solve for x

2x+8-x=11\\x=11-8\\x=3

Find the value of y

y=2(3+4)=14

therefore

The numbers are 3 and 14
