Condensation of DNA forms the chromosomes and the DNA contains the genes.

Step-by-step explanation:

DNA is the complex polymer of different nucleotides which stores the genetic information inside each and every cell of an animal. A DNA molecule is very long, which is stored inside the nucleus of an eukaryotic cell. In case of prokaryotic cells, the DNA molecule remains present inside the cytoplasm of a cell.

The Chromosomes are the condensed DNA which are seen inside the cells which are going to divide in near future. In these cells for the sake of efficient chromosome separation, the DNA condenses into chromosomes with the help of different histone and non histone proteins.

Genes are particular parts of DNA which comprise of a group of nucleotides and together, they translate into a protein chain with specific function in body.
