okay for a second i was going to do a huge explanation but i'll do a simple one.

9(1)-8+5(1)= 8(1)-2

9-8+5= 8-2

9-8= 1+5= 6

8-2= 6

so the answer is x=1, just plug in the number and then you can see if you are correct or not, thats the advice i give on doing these kind of equations. Hope this helps :D
