This was the French Constitution of 1791. This was the second written constitution brought to France and primarily sought out to fix the issue of separation of powers or the branches of government. The people did not want as much power going into the King's' hands as before, so they wanted to make a separation of powers to stay equal and fair. This constitution also was the start of a constitutional monarchy.
