f(x) = - x + 1 for, x ≤ 0 .......... (1) and

f(x) = x + 1 for, x > 0 ............. (2)

Now, from this definition we can write for x = 0, the value of f(x) will be governed by the equation (1) and f(0) = - 0 + 1 = 1

So, (0,1) is a point on the graph and for x < 0 the f(x) will have negative slope and for x > 0, the f(x) will have positive slope.
