15 % of bill amount is Hannah's tip

Solution:

Given that,

The first table she served on a Monday paid her $81.65

The bill amount was $71.00 and the rest was Hannah's tip

To find: percentage of bill that was Hannah's tip

Total amount paid along with tip = 81.65

Bill amount without tip = $ 71

Thus tip amount is given as:

Tip amount = Total amount paid along with tip - Bill amount without tip

Tip amount = 81.65 - 71

Tip amount = 10.65

Let "x" be the percentage of tip amount

Therefore, we can say,

x % of 71 = 10.65

(x)/(100) * 71 = 10.65\\\\x = (10.65 * 100)/(71)\\\\x = 15

Thus 15 % of bill amount is Hannah's tip
