Difference between organic sedimentary rocks and other sedimentary rocks:
Organic sedimentary rocks:
- They are formed form the wastes of animal, plants and other living organisms.
- Coal, demolites,Coral reefsetc are the examples.
- These are rich in carbon.
- They form in the area where there are low amount of oxygen exists.
Other sedimentary rocks:
- These are formed from the formation of precipitation of dissolved materials or from the mechanical weathering.
- Breccia, sandastone,shale,etc are the examples.
- These are rich in calcium.
- They can form anywhere.
