Considering area of circle
A = π x d2/4
A= π x (20^2)/4
= 314.16 m2

Considering the other side of triangle
= √[(20^2)-(16^2)]
= √(400-256)
= √144
= 12 m

Considering area of triangle
A = 1/2 x bh = 1/2 x 16 x 12
A= 96 m2

Area of shaded region
= area[ circle - triangle]
= 314.16 - 96
= 218.16 m2

Answer = 218.16

Answer:

218

Explanation:

the triangle is a right angle triangle. Therefore, we can use the Pythagorean thereom.
A^2 + 16^2 = 20^2

A^2 + 256 = 400

400 - 256 = 144

Square root of 144 is 12

Unknown side is 12

Find the area of the triangle:

16 x 12 = 192

192/2 = 96

The area is 96

Now find the area of the circle:

pi x the radius^2

The diameter is 20, so the radius is 10

Pi x 10^2 = 314

314 - 96 = 218
