Answer: -5 and 1

Explanation:

x-intercept means where a certain equation touches the x-axis. At this point the value of y will be 0.

So, put y = 0 in y = x² + 4x -5

0 = x² + 5x - x - 5

0 = x(x + 5) - 1(x + 5)

0 = (x - 1) (x + 5)

Either,

x - 1 = 0

x = 1

Or,

x + 5 = 0

x = -5
