Tonsil inflammation, also called "tonsillitis", is an inflammation of the two lymph nodes located at the back of the throat. Most cases are caused by infection of a common virus or sometimes bacteria.

Symptoms way include sore throat, red tonsils (or coated with patches), difficulty swallowing, fever, etc.

Tonsillitis can often occur in children.
