Answer:
In 1789, George Washington was the first President of the United States.
Contrary to the fears of Anti-Federalist,
George Washington's administration brought about the Executive branch and Central Government. He stated that presidential powers are not vested in the office and not the individual. He also stated that only the best should be appointed to hold the office of the President. To show that powers were not only vested in the President, he always ensures to seek the consent of the Senates before election into offices.
George Washington acted according to the dictates of the Constitution. Although, he identified his powers as Commander-in-Chief and acted within the bounds of his powers. He introduced President veto-power and limited the terms of the Presidential office to two-terms.
Given the above, Washington placed high importance on Democratic Republic over dictatorial form of Government.
