A point located at (4, 7) is translated up 5 units. What are the coordinates of the image?

Explanation:

Though I cannot see the image, I know what the answer is. The original points at (4, 7), and going up would mean that the y coordinate is getting higher.

(4, 7)=(x, y)

(x, y) = (4, 7)

7+5=12

Since 7 plus 5 is twelve, the new y coordinate is 12. Since we are not going the left or right, the x would stay the same.

Remember! You crawl (x) before you walk (y). Left/right means the x changes, up/down means the y changes.
