Probability is the ratio of number of favorable outcomes to occur to the total number of outcomes.

Explanation:

Probability = Number of favorable outcomes / Total number of possible outcomes

For example, You have box of 10 balls. 2 balls are of red color, 3 green color and five white color balls. You are to pick one ball out of the box and the question of probability comes that what are the chances (probability) that the ball you pick out is a green color ball.

Here our formula comes

that is Probability of Green ball = number of green balls / total number of balls

= 3 / 10 = 0.3 probability

and remember that value of probability is always between 0 and 1.

Probability is the likelihood or chance of an event occurring. For example, the probability of flipping a coin and it being heads is ½, because there is 1 way of getting a head and the total number of possible outcomes is 2 (a head or tail).
