A rectangle has an area of 227.9m^2.

One of the sides is 5.3m in length.
Work out the perimeter of the rectangle.

96.6 m

Explanation:

Let the length of the other side b x m .

Then the area = 5.3 * x

227.9 = 5.3x

x = 227.9 / 5.3

= 43 m

So the perimeter = 2 * (width + length)

= 2(5.3 + 43)

= 2 * 48.3

= 96.6 m

Divide the area by the side length to find the length of the other side:


227.9/5.3 = 43 m


now calculate the perimeter:

43 + 43 + 5.3 + 5.3 = 96.6m

Answer: 96.6m
