Line RS intersects triangle BCD at two points and is parallel to segment DC. Which statements are correct? Select three options.

a. △BCD is similar to △BSR.
b. BR/BD = BS/SC
c. If the ratio of BR to BD is 2/3 , then it is possible that BS = 6 and BC = 3.
d. (BR)(SC) = (RD)(BS)

Answer:

a and d is correct

Explanation:

The line RS intersects the triangle creating two triangles

ΔBCD and ΔBSR.

∠ C = ∠ S and ∠ R = ∠D ( corresponding angle)

the triangles are similar and therefore the sides ar proportional

BS / SC = BR / RD

(BR) (SC) = (RD) (BS) which means only a and d are correct.

BR / BD = 2/3 and

BS / BC = 6 /3 = 2/1 this is not correct since

BR / BD = BS / BC and 2/3 ≠ 2/1
