Explanation: Ervin Goffman born 11 June 1922 was a writer and sociologist. His contribution to social theory in his study of symbolic interaction was one his best.

He is the author of several books some of which are; Asylums (1961), Stigma (1963), Interaction Ritual (1967), Frame Analysis (1974), and Forms of Talk (1981) etc. .

He was greatly influenced by seasoned writers and sociologists such as Herbert Blumer, Émile Durkheim, Sigmund Freud.

He is known for adoption of the term DRAMATURGY which is he microsociological accounts of social interaction in everyday life.
