Please help. I've been trying to figure this out for an hour and I still don't understand how it's 72. I feel really stupid because it's probably easy to do.

The area of the shaded region is 72π.

Explanation:

The radius of the circle is 24.

The angle of the shaded region is 45°.

The formula to find the Area of shaded region
A=(N)/(360)(3.14(r^(2))).

where N is the angle of the shaded region and r is the radius of the circle.

A=(45)/(360)(3.14(24^(2))).

A=(1)/(8)((3.14)(24)(24)).

A=3.14× 24×3.

A=72π.

So the area of the shaded region is 72π.
