probability = number of the outcomes / total outcomes

total item in first box is 2+2=4

total items in second box is 7+5= 12


P(pen)=(2)/(4) =(1)/(2)


P(crayon)=(5)/(12)


P(pen \ and \ crayon)=(1)/(2) \cdot (5)/(12)=(5)/(24)
